Finally took the time to finish this bad boy.  Although I'm not happy with the background, I'm motivated to move on to something new.  I'll plan it out better, next time!

Panthro WIP Day 3

Panthro Progress

Steadily getting back into the painting and drawing groove.  Worked on this old sketch of Panthro today.  Working with some new techniques in Photoshop.  Added depth with some gradient overlays and some multiply layers for Ambient Occlusion and shadowing.
My brain is so weird at interpreting my sketches.  I have no idea how I extract the lines or the lighting scheme that I do.... So don't ask how I did it.

FUTURAMA FUN!

I can't believe how much I missed working with pencil, ink and watercolors! It feels so real! My fingers feel like they've got a work out! Not really. I started this sketch last night at work, and finished it this morning. It was meant as a gift to my friend who is possibly more of a Futurama fan than I am...Not bloody likely!

Still gettin' back into the groove of things it seems. It's funny how much you let go of when you stop painting for a long time. Finished this Zombified Smurf Head this morning. I like Zombies.

So after putting in serious hours, I've finally got a little sample of what I had initially set out to produce.

Gremlins Attack!!!

Lately I've been on a Gremlins kick. I love those old 80's movies! They make me feel like a kid again. I'm such a fan, that I spent a few weeks sculpting one. I also spent a few weeks working on texture maps and scene lighting in Maya. I do it because I love it. Here is what I've come up with so far, but there is more to come!

I like when other artists post the preliminary steps taken to get to the final product, so here is some of the early renders.

Finally finished! Started in ZBrush, and ended in Photoshop.
Seems not too many people know about Squidbillies, so I'd suggest checking it out!
Render Passes were done in Maya, and it took forever to get the lighting and materials right. But I learned a lot.

I started sculpting a Turtle Body a couple of days ago.
